Director of Manufacturing: Natron is seeking a Director of Manufacturing who will lead the scale up and process development for active materials, electrodes, cells, and packs. This position demands prior experience successfully implementing the tools, systems, and process controls needed to successfully execute the manufacturing process R&D and scale up needed to bring a new chemistry-heavy hardware product to market. Deep, broad expertise in slurry/ink preparation, coating, and drying at bench, pilot, and large scale is required. The occupant of this position will manage a team of manufacturing engineers, supervisors, and technicians. In addition, he or she will be responsible for building relationships and executing projects with partners including equipment vendors, cell component suppliers, and materials, electrodes, and cell manufacturing partners. Senior Staff Advanced Manufacturing Engineer: Natron seeks a Senior Staff Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to lead the scale up of Natron's electrode processing and cell assembly. This person will lead a team of engineers to solve challenges in cell manufacturing including the commissioning and validation of new pilot equipment, as well as the development, documentation, and handoff of robust processes capable of yielding high quality cells. These challenges include roll-to-roll electrode coating and post-processing, automated stacking, welding, sealing, and other cell assembly steps. The person in this position will also work with Natron's partners for out-of-house scale up to transfer and validate processes. Staff Scientist: Natron seeks a Staff Scientist to lead and execute projects related to cell design, including electrolyte formulation , electrode materials development (actives, carbons, binders), and passive component materials selection. This position is part of our product engineering team and its occupant will continuously collaborate with our design engineering staff to develop next-generation cell materials, components, and designs. The person for this position has deep prior experience in electrolyte formulation and passivation mechanisms in lithium-ion cells. He or she is a passionate, creative, self-motivated scientist who has no fear of pushing the boundaries of their intellectual capabilities. This position requires extensive hands-on lab work. Strong candidates have a proven track record of successful execution of challenging chemistry and materials R&D projects. Senior Reliability Engineer: Natron seeks a Renior Reliability Engineer to assist in the development of battery cells and battery packs. The Reliability Engineer will be an integral part of the design process and is expected to participate in design reviews, perform fault-tree analyses and FMEAs, and generate and execute validation test plans. Battery Engineering Associate: Natron seeks a battery engineering associate to assist in the testing of battery cells, modules and packs. The occupant of this position will work in a small team of engineers to execute the testing of all batteries built by Natron, in order to deliver the data necessary to reach battery R&D, engineering, and product development milestones. These projects may focus on the development of new battery electrodes, improvement of battery cell design, enhancement of battery performance under use and abuse conditions, and other engineering goals. Battery R&D Technician: Natron is seeking a Battery R&D Technician to prepare battery electrodes and other cell components, assemble battery cells, perform measurements on materials, electrodes, and cells, and record measurement test data. This is a hands-on position involving lab work including working in a glove box. Qualified applicants have prior industrial experience as a R&D or process technician and/or hands on experience working in a chemistry or materials laboratory.
